How to detect faked Pageranks
Everybody is looking on the green Pagerank-Status-Bar ... the higher it is the more likely are people the horner a domain name. But there are so many myths and lies out there and sometimes it’s not easy to detect a fake Pagerank from a real Pagerank.
What is a Faked Pagerank?
In short – A Pagerank is faked when you see the Pagerank from another domain name rather than it is own Pagerank.
This can be done easily by using a htaccess 301 redirect. In fact - any domain can have a PR10 from Google.com or whitehouse.gov if you use their URLs in the redirect.
Once the 301 redirects are removed the domain loose this Pagerank on the next Google PR update.
